I tend to forget about the plot and details of books I’ve read, and I rarely re-read books. However after I do finish a book, I usually have some sort of memory about how I felt while reading, so these recommendations are based mainly off of those instincts. Here they are in order of whatever pops into my head first, enjoy!

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Robert M. Pirsig
The Fountainhead, Ayn Rand
On the Road, Jack Kerouac
Slaughterhouse Five, Kurt Vonnegut
Crime and Punishment, Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Germinal, Emile Zola
Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Truman Capote
Kafka on the Shore; Norwegian Wood, by Haruki Murakami
The Namesake, Jhumpa Lahiri
The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Stephen Chbosky
The Time Traveler’s Wife, Audrey Niffenegger
This Side of Paradise; The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald
Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck
One Hundred Years of Solitude, Gabriel García Márquez
Lord of the Flies, William Golding
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain
Life of Pi, Yann Martel
The Bell Jar, Sylvia Plath
